Noise Mapping

How Loud is Your Workplace?

We do Sound Level Surveys for Loud Working Environments

When do you need a Sound Level Survey?

If you have to raise your voice to talk to someone who is only three feet away, this noise levels could be over 85 decibels. Anything over 85 decibels for an extended period of time--about 2 hours--can cause permanent hearing loss.

Noise levels could be too high if you hear ringing in your ears or muffled hearing when you leave a loud environment at work.

Area Noise Mapping

Sound level surveys or noise maps document noise levels and are required to help determine if your employees are at risk of excessive noise exposure.

Areas which have noise levels of 85 decibels or louder with exposure of 8 hours or longer are considered potentially damaging and required a comprehensive conservation program as mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Areas that exceed a time weighted average of 90 decibels or greater also require hearing protection usage and must be designated accordingly.
