What causes Tinnitus?
Tinnitus is not a disease itself, but a symptom of something affecting the auditory system. 90% of those with tinnitus also have hearing loss. Tinnitus often begins after onset of hearing loss, but can also stem from the following:
- earwax blockage
- middle ear problems
- jaw disorders (TMJ)
- head or neck injuries
- blood vessel conditions
- certain medications
