A Listening & Literacy Adventure for Children with Hearing Technology

Join us for a week of playful learning where children build listening, language, and early literacy skills through music, stories, movement, and imaginative jungle adventures. These small-group summer programs are designed specifically for children with hearing technology and provide a supportive environment to practice listening, communication, and early reading skills with peers.

Each day includes interactive books, songs, rhythm activities, listening games, and creative play designed to strengthen the building blocks of literacy.

Kindergarten–1st Grade Camp

July 27–30 | 2:00–3:30 PM

Wild Readers Safari takes children on a literacy adventure through the jungle as they strengthen listening, phonological awareness, and storytelling skills.

Through rhythm games, sound play, and engaging stories, children will explore how sounds become words and words become stories. Activities are designed to support early reading readiness while continuing to build strong listening skills.

Children will participate in:

  • Phonological awareness games (rhyming, syllables, beginning sounds)
  • Interactive story reading and retelling
  • Listening and auditory memory challenges
  • Rhythm activities that support sound play
  • Creative storytelling and dramatic play

The small group format allows children to practice listening and language skills in a supportive, engaging environment with peers.

This camp is ideal for children entering kindergarten or first grade who use hearing technology and are developing early literacy and listening skills.
